We are a business law firm based in Hamburg (Germany), focusing on advising clients from the Nordic countries in connection with their activities on the German market.
We are working exclusively within civil law and advise primarily within the fields of commercial and company law, tax law, employment law, real estate law and renewable energy law.
The firm was founded in 1992 initially focusing on the classical advice of Nordic merchants on their day-to-day business concerning commercial law and company law. Our partner Dr Johannes Klages, being a specialised tax lawyer, offers substantial commercial-fiscal advice within this field of law.
Since 2000, we have furthermore specialised in advising on renewable energy investments, i.e. our specialisation lies within finances, merger and acquisitions as well as project-development related advice. During the last 14 years, our partners and employees have assisted with the realisation of projects regarding wind power plants with a total capacity of over 1,500 MW and photovoltaic power plants with a total capacity of over 800 MW in several European countries. In order to always be up to date as regards legislation and jurisdiction as well as the state of the art, we are amongst others continuously involved with the German Wind Energy Association (Bundesverband Windenergie e.V. – BWE) where we are a member of the legal advisory board. Additionally, our partner Dr Axel B. Röpke vice president of the German Wind Energy Association and chairman of its Hamburg branch. Christian Sagawe, one of the founding partners of the firm, is due to his great expertise a frequent speaker at the Danish Wind Turbine Owners’ Association (Danmarks Vindmølleforening).
Within our real estate practice group, we have for more than 10 years assisted Nordic investors with regard to all legal questions connected with their investments. The team led by our partner Christoph Schulze has substantial expertise with the acquisition of single objects and portfolios, development of real estate holdings as well as handling the legal and practical day-to-day business of the property management.
